LOOP Returns to the GAC Spring Open Weekend

We’re delighted to confirm that LOOP Tackle will be back at the Glasgow Angling Centre Spring Open Weekend.

Representing LOOP across the weekend will be:

  • James Coates
  • Gordon Armstrong
  • Eoin Fairgrieve
  • Andrew Flitcroft
  • David Murray

From Friday through Sunday the team will be in store showcasing new tackle, discussing rod design and helping anglers get hands-on with the latest LOOP developments.

In Conversation with Eoin Fairgrieve

Ahead of the Open Weekend, Callum caught up with LOOP’s Eoin Fairgrieve on the banks of the River Tweed at Upper Dryburgh to talk about what anglers can expect from LOOP this season.

“We’re looking forward to the Open Weekend at Glasgow Angling Centre. LOOP will be there from Friday through Sunday showcasing some next generation tackle - particularly new rods that are coming out.”

The focus for this year’s appearance will be the next generation of LOOP rods. Anglers attending the event will have the opportunity to discuss design philosophy, performance characteristics and upcoming releases directly with the team.

“Callum’s going to try them today and we welcome people to come and have a talk about the rods, to be able to try the rods, and ultimately to place floor orders with the shop for the rods that are coming out.”
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been at the event and I’m super looking forward to a great weekend  - seeing old friends and making new ones.”

Testing the Rods on the River Tweed

Before the Open Weekend Eoin and the Loop Team were on on the River Tweed at Upper Dryburgh to put some of the new rods through their paces. Conditions were perfect for casting and gave us a chance to experience the feel and responsiveness of the upcoming models.

What to Expect from LOOP at GAC

  • Showcasing next-generation LOOP rods
  • Hands-on discussion around action, feel and design
  • Opportunity to place forward orders for upcoming models
  • Technical advice and casting guidance

Whether you're already a LOOP angler or simply curious about their approach to tackle development, this is a great opportunity to get hands-on and ask questions directly.

Looking Ahead

The conversation doesn’t stop at Glasgow. LOOP will also be working with Edinburgh Angling Centre on a dedicated event later this year, where the team will be on hand to assist with casting and tackle advice.
