Today we are checking out a booby pattern called the Guide Dog, tied by Steve Cullen. Booby patterns when done correctly, can be devastating, producing fantastic results. This pattern specifically seems to come into it's own when there's a little bit of colour in the water. 

What makes a Booby successful on any water, is usually the size of the eyes on the fly, so having a collection of these flies with a variety of different size eyes can be quite beneficial.

All materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.

Materials Used:

Hook: Kamasan B175 Trout Heavy Traditional

Thread: Uni Thread 8/0 Waxed, Shocking Pink

Tail: Future Fly Star Flash, Pink / Purple

Thorax:  FAP UV Straggle Fritz, Suburst
Throat: Veniard Large Selected Marabou, Amber

Eyes: Veniard Pre-Formed Booby Eyes, Pink
